Two point five million dollars have been budgeted by the government for the I.C.J. Referendum campaign. An education campaign, apart from but similar to the government-sponsored I.C.J. campaign, concluded on Tuesday night in Belize City. The I.C.J. Lecture Series, funded by the University of Belize and the Social Sector Senators, ended in a heated debate between attorney Richard ‘Dickie’ Bradley and historian Assad Shoman. While both men have different stances on whether or not the dispute should be left to the I.C.J. for final determination, they took jabs at the current administration and against the Opposition party. Bradley called both parties gangs, while Shoman described them as efficient corruption machine. Today, U.D.P. Minister Wilfred Elrington told News Five that statements like those are irresponsible.
