First releasing the 2019 smash hit remix of Higher Love with vocals by Whitney Houston instead of the original Stevie Winwood, Kygo doubles down on his summer magic with the 2020 release of a remix of the 1984 hit "What's Love Got To Do With It?" by Tina Turner. I have to say that I did not expect this at all because just this May he released a brand-new album to go along with Cloud Nine and the Stargazing EP, Golden Hour. Sporting big hits already with Like It Is with Zara Larsson and Tyga (the unreleased demo version is absolutely amazing) and Lose Somebody with OneRepublic (still currently on the charts), this new album adds to the impressive list of songs and collaborations Kygo has done: the remix of I See Fire with Ed Sheehan, the remix of High For This by Ellie Goulding, singing a cover of the song by The Weeknd, Stay with Maty Noyes, Firestone with Conrad Sewell, Here For You with Ella Henderson (although I prefer the version without her), Stole The Show with Parson James, First Time with Ellie Goulding, It Ain't Me with Selena Gomez (the 2017 summer hit), Stargazing with Justin Jesso, Remind Me To Forget with Miguel (the 2018 summer hit), Born To Be Yours with Imagine Dragons (or as us Impractical Jokers fans know the Imagination Dragons), Happy Now with Sandro Cavazza, and Not Ok with Chelsea Cutler, along and more. For this new release, I did not see this coming whatsoever, but I'm glad it's out! Coming with the usual Kygo traits like the piano, EDM mixing, and the oh-so-recognizable vocal chops combined with the original stems of the 1984 version, this song proves to already become a smash summer hit just like its 2019 predecessor. The extended version of this song is made by me. I like the song as it is, but I felt it needed another chorus and a few more beat drops, specifically two, because one is for sure not enough.
