Low light footage of wild betta smaragdina showing off its iridescence and beauty. Betta smaragdina are a species of betta in the bubblenesting splenden complex. They are known for their snakescale like iridescence and strong metallic.
The high amount of metallic found in the species is the adaptation to the murky water in which they are found. Compare to the common splendens and imbellis they are on average larger with longer flowing fins.
