We’ve got the Toyota Land Cruiser back and boy does it ever get a lot of looks. It’s got such a cool vibe!
There is just one powertrain option and it’s a hybrid, a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 48-horsepower electric motor. It’s paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and gets a combined 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Standard full-time 4WD. Premium fuel is required.
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is built in Japan on the TNGA-F body on frame platform and features off-road tech that has debuted in the newest generation of Toyota trucks. It definitely drives like a truck, you feel a lot of imperfections in the road but it’s exactly what I expected.
There are three trims to choose from with different looks. For the signature retro Land Cruiser design, the 1958 model has the iconic round LED headlights, LED fog lights, the Toyota Heritage Grille, 18” wheels and a full-size spare tire. The Land Cruiser middle trim has slim rectangular headlights, available 20” wheels. The limited First Edition model adds features like a roof rack, rock rails, round LED headlamps, LED rear lights and First Edition mud flaps.
The interior has a bit of a rugged look to it like other Toyota trucks, it comes standard with an 8” touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a 7” driver display. Dual 12.3” screens are available which we have on our middle trim Land Cruiser model with the premium package. Cloth upholstery is standard, available Softex and leather.
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is not inexpensive that’s for sure. In Canada, pricing includes, freight, PDI and fees. 1958 $72,342 CAD, Land Cruiser $80,342 CAD, Land Cruiser premium package $86,342 CAD and First Edition $93,032 CAD.
