The government of Burundi has accused the East African Legislative Assembly of doctoring a resolution seeking to investigate the country’s leaders for human rights violations in Burundi. The protest arose from resolutions made by the Assembly following the killing of Burundi representative Hafsa Mossi in June. This afternoon, Burundi minister for East African affairs Leontine Nzeyimana asked the Assembly to expunge statements in the EALA Hansard that Burundian government was uncomfortable with.
