In today’s digital age, real estate professionals are finding various creative methods to produce leads using social media, databases, online auctions and virtual tours. While I encourage you to explore these new avenues, I want to remind you that it is equally as important to continue doing what has worked for you in the past.
A question that I am asked quite regularly is, “Do open houses still work for generating leads and closing sales in real estate?” Absolutely they do! In fact, ANY type of lead generation you choose will work if you are GREAT at it. There is a quote by Ashleigh Brilliant, artist and writer of Pot-Shots, which states, “Good ideas are common - what's uncommon are people who will work hard enough to bring them about.” He raises a very important point, and one I firmly believe in, and that is, “Excellence is not an accident!” So, how do you make your open house work for you? Aside from promoting the open house well in advance through cold calls and direct mail invites, personalized invitations to neighbours, and ample visible signage, there are many ways you can turn your open house into a transaction, as well as a memorable event and successful lead generator.
