Stephen Moore, Teagasc Research Officer provides an insight into what to expect at the Breeding and Reproduction Village at Moorepark '23, which takes place on Tuesday, 4th July. A major focus will be on how to better integrate the dairy and beef industries.
They will have the latest on the Dairy Beef Index and how to optimise dairy beef performance. The demo will focus on the benefits of using high EBI genetics, while at the same time maximising the beef merit of progeny coming from the dairy herd.
With the rapid uptake of sexed semen, they will outline key strategies to achieve the best results and examine some of the newest technologies for heat detection. With the latest research from the next generation herd showing the reduced environmental impact of the elite EBI cows, there will be plenty of discussion.
