Jon & the Halfhand in a cave isn’t quite Jon & Ygritte in a cave, but there’s a lot of parallel symbolism, and Jon being forced to slay his brother Qhorin is a huge turning point. Best of all, his going over to the wildlings foreshadows the Others stealing Jon’s corpse in TWOW.
