You mentioned that your 9 1/2 month old little girl is transitioning from 3 naps to 2 right now and it's affecting her bed time. She's going to sleep earlier than she usually does and you're wondering if she'll ever adjust back to her normal bed time. If she continues to go to sleep earlier than usual and that's working well for you and her, then that's totally fine. There's no need to change it. But if you do want to change her bed time and make it a little bit later, then first start out by developing a routine that you do consistently 20 to 30 minutes before putting her down. This should be something that clues her in to the fact that it's time for bed, and relaxes her, and it's an opportunity for bonding between you and her. It could be reading a story, or rocking her, or singing a lullaby. Whatever it is, start it 20 to 30 minutes before you want to put her down, put her in her crib, turn around, and walk out of the room. When adjusting the bed time, just start this routine 15 minutes later than usual. And once she's gotten used to the new bed time that's 15 minutes later, maybe in a week or so, then you can push it back another 15 minutes until you've gotten her going to sleep at the time that works best for you and her.
At this stage in life, your little girl needs about 14 hours of sleep each day, but some babies are different and need a little bit less or a little bit more, but this is about how much she should be getting between naps and night time. And naps can range anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours and still be normal. So it's more about an overall amount of sleep and her overall disposition. If she's happy with what you've got going on and it works, then you can keep it the way it is. If you need to adjust it and tweak it so that she's happier and you're happier, that's fine too.
