An 8-day expedition to Svalbard where we reached 81°17’5” North – within just 800km (500 miles) of the North Pole.
During the voyage, we found the Arctic we always imagined: the land of the midnight sun; gleaming glaciers and snowcapped peaks; a frigid ocean riddled with icebergs and pack ice; and extraordinary wildlife including walruses, polar bears and sea birds. We also managed to squeeze in a Polar Plunge and a kayaking excursion among icebergs.
