A group of 75 Whimbrels stream by the whimbrel watchers at Col. Sam Smith Park in west Toronto. Listen for their whistling calls. These large tundra-nesting shorebirds visit this park every spring for two weeks or so every spring, peaking around May 24th every year. Visit Whimbrel Point during the Birding Festival on May 26th and witness something amazing!
Try to ignore the giant mutant midges swarming about near the end, and some of you may recognize a familiar mascot!
