Hi, I'm Dr. Richard Rand. I'm a board certified plastic surgeon at the Northwest Center for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery located in Bellevue, Washington just about 10 miles east of Seattle.
I've been a plastic surgeon in practice, after my training for about 26 years now. Since my training was finished, I've done about 13,000 surgeries.
I think what makes me unique in plastic surgery is that I am a fourth generation surgeon. So I've been born and raised. In a sense, surgery was born in my blood. I'm unique in that my mother is also an artist and I have a very in-born eye for artistry and symmetry. Those are talents you can't teach in plastic surgery and for me, the ability to see a result and create the result that I see is unique.
It's very important to me that patients today understand that plastic surgery is real surgery. And that they take is seriously and they know I take it seriously. I take their coming to me seriously, I want them to have an excellent result, an excellent experience and I want for them to do what they need to do to help me give them the result I'm hoping to give them.
So we have something in those (photo) books that represents just about every starting point imaginable because we've seen just about every starting point imaginable. And so what I can show patients to help them understand what they might be able to achieve is by showing them patients who are really are truly like themselves.
We set up a real strong relationship between our patients, and myself and the staff. So by the time they've had surgery, they know everybody very well. They know me. They know that I'm very approachable. That I want them to ask me questions. I don't want them to feel that they can't ask any question that is on their mind. They know that I've done all their post-operative care. I don't relegate any of the care to any of the staff. I do all the suture removal, everything. And I answer all the calls on the nights and on the weekends. So if they have any concern on Sunday, they're going to get me not somebody else. So they know that I'm very committed to them and I'm very committed to their result. And I want them to have every bit the best experience possible. And they know that.
