Take a tour and review the ocean front all inclusive – Sensira Resort and Spa in the Riviera Maya of Mexico.
This is a pretty new resort with an emphasis on family and wellness. It is a very unique resort offering some amenities and activities that other resorts either do not have or fail to deliver properly.
Sensira is located in just 20 minutes from the Cancun airport and is in a developing area – so it is kind of off the beaten path. The road to get there can be a little bumpy and damaged but hopefully this changes as more development is seen in this area.
Sensira is a 359 room resort that is fit into a small footprint. There are several layers to the resort and even though it does feel smaller than most sprawling resorts it does offer a lot of amazing adventures.
Sensira boasts eight restaurants and five bars, ensuring a variety of dining experiences for every guest. I had unforgettable meals at Galerie des Sens, an elegant adults-only restaurant offering exquisitely plated haute cuisine; La Tentazione, an inviting Italian eatery; and La Finca de Ana, a charming Mexican restaurant serving some of the best traditional dishes I’ve had in a long time. For more casual dining, La Pergola’s extensive buffet provided endless options for breakfast and dinner.
There’s no shortage of activities at Sensira, with three swimming pools (including an adults-only pool and a central family pool), tennis courts, a 24-hour fitness center, and even a climbing wall and zipline that offers an exciting glide over the pool area. Daily entertainment is diverse, with options like karaoke, casino nights, and live dance and music performances.
The hotel’s Inspiration Spa caters to both adults and children, featuring a wide range of treatments. Adults can enjoy the hydrotherapy circuit, while children ages 5 to 17 can receive massages. Sensira stands out in offering exceptional activities for kids, boasting features that larger hotels often lack. In addition to a large waterpark, Sensira offers a variety of kids’ clubs, including the Adventure Club for ages 4 to 12, the Baby Explorer Club for ages 18 months to 3 years, and the Emoji Teens Club, which offers video games, virtual reality experiences, foosball, and billiards. The whole family can enjoy a movie together at the hotel’s cinema, which hosts daily family-friendly screenings for up to 45 guests.
For adults seeking a more exclusive experience, there are plenty of options as well, including a pool with cabanas and lounge chairs, the Knight’s Pub, an English-style bar with pool and card tables, the S-Club dance club with live DJs, and the Amber Lounge, a VIP area on the fourth floor for guests in higher room categories. The lounge serves drinks and snacks and features a large balcony with some of the best views of the Caribbean.
Rooms at Sensira are spacious, designed with families in mind, featuring separate bedrooms and ample space to relax or prepare for the beach. The rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable, and meticulously clean.
Despite being a smaller property, Sensira offers plenty to do. You can unwind by one of three distinct pool environments: an oceanfront infinity pool with activities, a family-friendly pool, or the adults-only pool with a hydromassage tub. Kids ages 4 to 12 can enjoy the Aquapark, which features waterslides and a “rain tree” fountain. Younger guests are well-catered for with supervised activities at the Baby Explorer Club (ages 18 months to 3 years), the Adventure Club (for kids 4 and older), and the Emoji Teens Club. Other family-friendly activities include a zipline, climbing wall, and mini-golf course.
