All their father and uncle wanted to do was play some ball, but they just had to go and kill them for it... oddly enough that is the starting point for one of the most ancient Mayan tales, The Popol Vuh. Also known as the story of the Hero Twins who avenged their father and uncle from the lords of the Underworld. Specifically it is the tale of the death of Hun-Hunahpu and Vucub Hunahpu and their sons Hunahpu and Xbalanque. The journey takes place in the Mayan underworld Xibalba, so.... I hope you enjoy the video and I recommend you read the notes below.

Notes:
I didn't really go into the detail on the creation of humanity in this one, but it's actually quite interesting:
Before there were humans, there were only the gods. But the gods were super bored amongst themselves and decided to create the animals for their entertainment and worship. Problem was that the animals weren't exactly worshipping the gods, so they created the humans next, but failed twice... the humans were... terrible. So they killed them all.
Back to living only amongst themselves, one of the gods figured that he might as well be worshipped by the other gods, so he rose above everybody and became an evil tyrant that ruled over all... until... the Hero Twins killed him. So yes, the Hero Twins actually did more than just kill the evil underworld lords, and humanity was we know was only born after their victory, successfully created by one of the more benevolent Maya gods.
