Synopsis:
Born a child of two wizards, Douglas Lynwood cannot speak. An unfortunate side effect of too much magic in the blood, along with his mother’s death. Without being able to speak, he cannot do magic. At least, that is what everyone says. His father and older sister say it, not to discourage him, but simply because it is what it is. The magical tomes they have say the same thing. However, Douglas doesn’t care what anyone says, he is determined to do magic anyway- and he’d say it to their face, even though he can’t speak at all.
