I finally have my hands on the most popular Radio Controller (for its price). And it is falling short of range for low-altitude FPV (First Person View) flight or drive. Yes, I plan to build an RC buggy to drive around in first person view in a local park. My drone did go as far as 1.6km with standard 2.4ghz (dsm2 on 100mw) but when the RC receiver gets that close to the ground inside an unmanned ground vehicle, the RC range tends to reduce dramatically. Here’s a fairly straight forward mod to double the range of the T-lite radio. You do need to have basic soldering skills and some understanding of electronics to do this upgrade project. Enjoy!
