Ingredients
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Urad dal/ split and husked black gram - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Green chili - 1 slit
Curry leaves - 4 to 5 chopped
Hing/ asafoetida - a pinch
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Cucumber - 1 cup chopped
Salt - as required
Roasted bengal gram - 2 tablespoons
Dry grated coconut - 2 tablespoons
Coriander leaves - finely chopped as required for garnishing
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan and add urad dal, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, green chili, curry leaves, hing, turmeric powder, and cucumber. Saute it well on medium flame.
Add salt and saute it. Cover and cook it for 2 minutes.
Meanwhile, grind roasted bengal gram and dry grated coconut together.
Now, add 2 to 3 teasspoon of mixture and saute it. Cover and cook it for a few seconds on high flame.
Garnish it with the coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
