Passengers onboard an SAA aeroplane that was held up on the tarmac at Warsaw airport in Poland - have finally been allowed to disembark.
The passengers include journalists and security personnel protecting President Cyril Ramaphosa - who is part of an African peace mission visiting the warring nations of Russia and Ukraine.
They were barred from leaving the plane after arriving yesterday before midday until the middle of this afternoon while tense negotiations with the Polish authorities were underway.
The Presidency meanwhile says President Ramaphosa has arrived in Kyiv in Ukraine and his security has not been compromised despite the impasse.
It's unclear whether the security officials and members of the media will be able to charter a flight and get to Russia in time for the second leg of the press mission.
