We thought it good to share why we are farming, how did we start and what does Appinoka mean.
We recently had a talk at the local Huon farm show and spoke about how we attempt to establish a niche product. The presentation does focus on this but the sad truth is that we are just growing food, clean from industrial chemicals in sync with nature and that in itself creates a niche market. The sadness is that this kind of farming was the only source of food prior to the 1940s, prior to large scale chemical and intensive farming practices.
We are a family-run farm in Mountain River, Tasmania, committed to growing fresh, synthetic chemical free vegetables through regenerative practices. Since 2019, we’ve raised livestock with rotational grazing, cultivated a vibrant market garden, and planted 400+ trees to enhance soil health and biodiversity.
We love sharing our journey with the community through farm tours and fresh produce for locals and restaurants.
