Retroperitoneoscopic left partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer
A case of a 56 years old male with an incidental finding of a 3.8 cm mass of the left kidney. The mass is on the lateral surface at the middle of the kidney so the retroperitoneoscopic approach is more indicated because it allows a direct approach to the tumor without the need to mobilise the entire kidney. Furthermore it gives a direct approach to 2 renal arteries. 4 ports were used. The ischemia time was 26 minutes for cold excission of the tumor and renorraphy. Blood loss was 80 cc. Final pathology: RCC pT1a, grade III, negative surgical margins.
