Back on Monday night January 23, many of you posted and messaged about a vehicle fire and a traffic collision on the Northbound 101 side of the Cuesta Grade. At 8:37PM a two vehicle traffic collision was reported just North of the Summit with vehicles blocking the roadway. Just 2 minutes later unrelated to the first incident, a vehicle fire was dispatched halfway up the SLO side of the Cuesta Grade. Here's video of that incident where for unknown reasons a PT Cruiser caught on fire. The driver was able to pull over and exit the vehicle safely. SLO City Fire Engine 2 arrived first on scene, quickly knocking down the fire with no spread to any vegetation - thanks rain! This may have played out very differently if it was a couple months ago.
