Percussionist Soumya Shankar Roy has studied Tabla under the guidance of Maestro Pt. Shankar Ghosh & studied Latin Percussion from Shri Manojit Dutta. He has also received valuable guidance from various Artist around the globe. He has got his ‘Master in Music’ degree from Rabindra Bharati & ‘Sangeet Visharad’ from Chandigarh University. He has performed all over India & represented India in various music festivals in abroad like Germany (Indian Music & Film Festival), Poland (Goa Dupa & Kala Chakra), Portugal (Boom Festival), Spain (Barcelona Music Festival), Mauritius (Asian Folk Festival), Muscat (Fusion Festival) etc. Also he has been a part of the stage alongside great exponents like A.R.Rahman & many others. He have played with different reputed overseas Bands & Artist like ‘Shuffle Demons’, 'Serpentine', ‘Kayos Theory’, ‘Sam Smala’, ‘No Jazz’, ‘Ed Degenaro’ ‘Alvin Atkinson’, 'Zak Bond', 'Jim Black', ‘Kay Brothers’ etc. He had performed in various Music Festival (Classical, Jazz & Fusion) like Calcutta Jazz Fusion Fest, NH7 Kolkata, Calcutta Pied Piper Festival, Calcutta Rhythm Festival & performed as a Percussionist in many of the Electronic, DJ Music Festival all over India & Abroad.
