This week, I am unboxing and installing (one of two) raised garden beds, which I am going to be using for “main crops” which don’t work as well when grown in a food forest setting. Another reason for raised beds could be too, if they’re tall enough, keep pest animals like rabbits from eating your plants. Install was pretty easy and straightforward although I probably went overboard with the base material. I am going with a contemporary feel in my garden so this Corten steel ring from Epic Gardening is fitting, I think. Of course you could use wood or a lot of different materials as well.
I filled the raised bed with logs, remains from palm trees, some native topsoil and weeds in the center, and, of course a ton of organic matter. I did not use peat moss, because peat moss is not sustainable. Let me know what you grow in your garden! Thanks for Watching!
