This is a wonderful use of artificial intelligence! The genealogy site MyHeritage has just unveiled an application called Deep Nostalgia that allows you to bring your old family photographs to life.

We all have photographs of our missing grandparents, uncles or aunts that we sometimes show to our friends and family or to our children to introduce them to their family. Well from today, these photos can literally come to life and come alive, all thanks to artificial intelligence.

To do so, simply go to the Deep Nostalgia page of the MyHeritage website and download the photo you want to animate. To proceed, the site will ask you to register and then work for a few seconds to optimize your photo. The result is really surprising and will animate the person in a very natural way (like the photographs in the Harry Potter diaries).

Below are two impressive examples that have been revealed by the MyHeritage site. And if you like transformations that use AI, you are reminded of the ToonMe site that transforms you into a Pixar character.
