Can you be fired for things you do outside of the workplace?
Unequivocally YES.
Make no mistake. Your employer is watching - ALWAYS.
So if you decide to voice your opinions, protest, comment on social media etc. You MUST realize it could potentially cost your job.
Let me be clear. You ARE entitled to protest, voice your opinions, etc. But be aware -- it CAN cost your employment.
Employers can fire you for things you do outside of the workplace.
I respect people who understand the risks and stand up for what they believe anyway. But all to often, people are caught by surprise that this can happen.
So know the realities before you take action. Be informed, be safe, be peaceful.
This country is on fire right now. Let's see if we can find some common ground.
