Sound of the Sky (or Sora no Woto) was created in 2010 as part of the Anime no Chikara' initiative, and was considered by the majority of the anime community at the time to be just another slice of life anime with K-On style visuals. These days, the series seems to have been largely forgotten, but was Sound of the Sky really just a shallow cash grab meant to capitalize on the moe craze? Series director Mamoru Kanbe has gone on record to state that the majority of the series' critics were "missing the point", and after re-examining the series over 10 years later, I think he might be right. That's why today in my corner I'm analyzing the series that seems to have all but vanished from the anime community's collective consciousness, and providing some insight into what I believe is the true artistic intent behind Sound of the Sky, a series that deserves to be remembered for what it was, not for what it was expected to be.

This video. This freaking video. I'm so incredibly proud of what I've been able to say with this deep dive. I feel like it's the best deep dive I've made so far, and I hope you agree with me on that. (Basically, I hope it was worth the 2 month wait) My next video is probably going to be on either Wonder Egg Priority, Nekomonogatari Kuro, or Momo: Girl God of Death. If you feel especially strong about one of these three shows, drop a comment letting me know which one you'd like to see me cover first.
As always, thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
