Marella Cruises: Marella Explorer 2 - Three Seas Cruise (Aegean, Ionian & Mediterranean) - June 2024: [ Ссылка ] .
Marella Explorer 2, formerly Celebrity Century and SkySea Golden Era, was the lead ship of the Century class of cruise ships for Celebrity Cruises, and the co-flagship of the Celebrity fleet, along with Millennium-class ship Celebrity Constellation, and the newest Solstice class, Celebrity Reflection. SkySea Golden Era underwent a major refurbishment, in Cadiz, Spain, in order to become Marella Explorer 2. Its first sailing for Marella Cruises was in April 2019. This film features a detailed review of a 7 day cruise that I took on the Marella Explorer 2. The cruise was called 'Three Seas' and went from the Adriatic Sea to the Mediterranean Sea to the Ionian Sea, read about these seas below.

The cruise began at Dubrovnik, before having a day at sea and then calling at Valletta (Malta), Messina (Italy), Taranto (Italy), Corfu (Greece) and Kotor (Montenegro). I made a series of films of the cruise ports that we called it, they are linked below.

The cruise total package price including flights, luggage, transfers, all-inclusive 7 day cruise for two people was £2,801 (for both of us). This wasn't cheap, although many cruises charge a lot more for the same experience, and I felt that overall it represented decent value for the experience that we had.
I'll go through the different aspects of the cruise now and summarise my thoughts:
Quality of Ship - Despite the ship being older than many of the glamourous Royal Caribbean, MSC and Costa Cruises ships, it is still in very good shape and looks tidy. It is well maintained and unlike some of the monstrosities that I've seen, this ship still actually looks like a ship! Unfortunately the promenade deck (6) doesn't allow you to do a full circuit, but it still had a nice cruise ship aesthetic, which many of the more modern ships just don't have anymore.
Our Cabin (1010) - The cabin was an inside cabin, as the outside and balcony cabins just didn't seem worth paying the extra for, when we spend very little time in the cabin. The housekeeping incident was very unfortunate, but it didn't spoil our holiday and the recompense of a free meal was appreciated. We still think Mae who looked after our cabin is a superstar.
The food - Very difficult to fault this (apart from one breakfast). I enjoyed 99% of everything that I ate.
The bars - The bars were mostly well staffed and service was good. It was a pity that the all-inclusive was two tier so some drinks weren't permitted. I wasn't aware of this before boarding but wouldn't have upgraded anyway, as my wife doesn't drink alcohol or coffee and we would both need to be on the same package, so it didn't seem worth it in retrospect.
The entertainment - Really good fun, the shows were great. I didn't participate or watch any of the pool deck entertainment, but the shows in the theatre were the best that I've seen on a ship so far.
Stays in port - Good long stays in port, early docking, tea-time departures, and only one day at sea, this was great. No queues getting on or off the ship and no tender boats. The other cruise companies could learn a lesson from Marella here.
Staff - All great, no complaints at all.
Tui service overall - Really very efficient, no bumps, no unexpected hiccups and having our suitcases go from the ship and be checked in for us was just brilliant, very, very good indeed. Would I do this cruise again? DEFINITELY YES! Thank you Marella Cruises.
