Welcome to my DIY YouTube video where I'll be showing you how to mix and airbrush paint using a paper stencil that you can easily print out with a regular printer. In this tutorial, I'll be utilizing a technique where I cut out all of the dark areas on the stencil, keeping it as a whole piece.
To start off, I've chosen lime line candy paint to create a beautiful shade of purple. I'll be mixing this purple color into three different white paints to create a variety of purple shades. We'll be starting with a light purple and gradually moving towards darker shades. If you want an even darker shade, you can add some black candy to the final mixture.
The key for this technique is to use these different tones back and forth, keeping in mind that the two color tones should be relatively close or next to each other. By doing this, we can achieve a smooth transition from light to dark. It's important to re-register the stencil as needed, ensuring that the image stays aligned during the process.
Moving from light to dark is a better way to approach portrait images as it prevents unwanted blue shifting. This technique allows for a more realistic and seamless result.
I encourage you to watch the video tutorial to see the step-by-step process in action. Make sure to follow along and try it out for yourself. The possibilities are endless once you master this technique!
