Have you ever heard the advice to “banish all junk foods from your home to avoid overeating them”
This advice has good intentions - but when you dig deeper… it falls short in being truly helpful long term for our health & well-being.
Sure - banishing certain foods means they’re less accessible to you, thus you don’t eat them at home.
But what about when you go out? Go to a friends?
What happens to your *psychology* with that food?
Do your cravings just magically disappear… or do you find yourself obsessing harder over said food…
and potentially even developing disordered habits with the food like
❌ eating in secret
❌ binge eating
❌ “just sniffing” the food and eating something else
❌ chewing and spitting food out…
❌ and… well.. we could go on and on.
The solution? Developing a healthy relationship with that food.
Understanding play foods are a part of life, and craving them is not wrong or immoral.
