In 1957 a group of public minded lawyers founded all-party law reform and human rights organisation JUSTICE. Their aim was to promote the rule of law and the fair administration of justice.
JUSTICE remains committed to making the justice system fairer and more accessible for everyone. This year it JUSTICE celebrates 60 years of shaping the legal landscape in the UK.
JUSTICE has been at the forefront of reforms to the justice system, including proposing the Ombudsman, Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, the Criminal Cases Review Commission, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Ministry of Justice itself.
To mark 60 years of JUSTICE, long standing supporter Peter Hill – who produced the BBC television show 'Rough Justice' –has put together this film on the organisation's rich history. It features interviews with some of the key people who have made JUSTICE what it is today.
