The opposing factions in the scramble for leadership in The Orange Democratic Movement have resolved to set up a transitional committee to run the party pending fresh national elections following last Friday's aborted polls. The party's National Governing Council also resolved to establish a 5-member taskforce to probe the Friday fiasco at the Kasarani Gymnasium, despite claims that the violence was pre-determined. But as Francis Gachuri reports, the faction led by Budalangi lawmaker Ababu Namwamba seems to have bagged a symbolic victory against nominated senator Dr Agnes Zani's team, by taking the strategic positions of deputy party leader, secretary general and organizing secretary though in an acting capacity.
