Precision Time Protocol (PTP) is used in high-end media networks to achieve time sync. Configuration requires: - Special network hardware - switches and timing 'leader' device - Network technicians with PTP knowledge In ST 2110 networks, a particular PTP 'profile' is essential. Less rigorous approaches to timing are also possible with IPMX.
