This is the Silver Fork of the American River, in El Dorado County California. It is running very high & fast due to the heavy runoff of the Winter snowpack. This spot was mostly spared, but the 2021 Caldor fire took most of the trees in the area, which burned more than 200,000 acres of the El Dorado National Forest. On our way out there we drove past snowbanks that were still 6' - 8' high, and this is June in the Sierra Nevada Foothills.
