We follow the alignment of the former Midland rail route from Bakewell to Buxton. This includes the spectacular gorge of the Derbyshire Wye, where the trackbed forms the Monsall Trail. Closer to Buxton, the route is occupied by a working mineral line. The final few hundred yards, and the terminus station, Buxton Midland, are now vanished under roads and car parks, alongside the present, formerly LNWR, Buxton station. All imagery is generated from Google Earth.
