This program resurrects old-fashioned Tic-Tac-Toe with Sphero BOLT! Get 2 players and bring your mastermind 3x3 grid strategy to see if you can beat your opponent. Start the program and notice there will be a blue player and a red player on the matrix, not X’s and O’s like in the traditional game. The blue player will start by pitching or rolling BOLT to move cells (as measured by the gyroscope), and then tap BOLT to select a cell. Then it's the red players turn, and the game continues until one player gets 3 cells in a row, or it’s a cat’s (draw) game.
This game dates back to 1300 BC in Ancient Egypt, where 3 x 3 grids used as game boards have been found on roofing tiles. In the Roman Empire around 100 BC the game was called "terni lapilli" meaning three pebbles at a time, in Britain in the mid-1800's it was called "noughts and crosses", and finally in the early 1900's the Americanized version became known as Tic-Tac-Toe. Today the game is known around the world, and Sphero BOLT has freed it from the shackles of whiteboards and paper!
