Often times, analysts and managers are faced with complex business challenges with instructions to simply “figure it out.” It is not necessarily the challenge that becomes difficult to address, but more the approach and process in order to do so. To properly solve a business problem or challenge, it is important to adopt a clear process - and embrace some guiding principles from experienced consultants.
Patrick Noonan is an emeritus professor and was the first Associate Dean for Management Practice Initiatives at Goizueta Business School. His expertise in problem-solving draws from his academic training in decision analysis and his years in management consulting, starting at McKinsey & Company. He holds a PhD in Decision Sciences from Harvard, and both an MBA and a BS in Engineering & Applied Science from Yale.
