ক্যারাম নাটকটি দেখেননি, এমন দর্শক হয়তো কমই আছেন। দেখুন বা না দেখুন, কিন্তু জানেন কি, এই একটি নাটকই বদলে দিয়েছে অভিনেতা মোশাররফ করিমের জীবন? বদলে গেছে তাঁর পুরো ক্যারিয়ার। এই তথ্য দিয়েছেন মোশাররফ করিম নিজেই। তবে ক্যারাম নাটকে অভিনয়ের জন্য তাঁকে ছাড়তে হয়েছিল থাইল্যান্ডে গিয়ে ধারাবাহিক নাটকে অভিনয়ের সুযোগ। সেই ঘটনা মনে করে মোশাররফ বললেন, ‘আমার তখন থাইল্যান্ডে একটি দীর্ঘ ধারাবাহিকে অভিনয় করতে যাওয়ার কথা। সেভাবেই প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছি। ওই সময় ফোন আসে ক্যারাম নাটকে অভিনয়ের জন্য। কচি খন্দকারের গল্প থেকে মোস্তফা সরয়ার ফারুকী নির্মাণ করবেন। শুটিং হবে কুমিল্লায়। আমি দোটানায় পড়ে যাই। থাইল্যান্ড যাব নাকি কুমিল্লা! এ নিয়ে কথা বলি স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে। ও আমাকে কুমিল্লায় গিয়ে ক্যারাম নাটকে অভিনয়ের ব্যাপারে উৎসাহ দেয়। তারপর তো সবই ইতিহাস।’
