THEY EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND STARTED DOING PATIENT EXTRACTION. AND PATIENT EVALUATION. 34Rescuers found themselves facing a massive crash scene. Over a hundred fire-fighters helped 21 victims. 14 people were taken to local hospitals. Three people died at the scene of the crash--two more after they were hospitalized.The two people in the van that ran the light were burned beyond recognition.(SOT: SCOTT MOTTRAM)(11:00:19) THE THREE VEHICLES WERE FULLY INVOLVED AND YOU CAN SEE WITH YOUR CAMERAS THE SIGNS ACROSS THE STREET THAT HAVE MELTED. THEY LET YOU KNOW THAT THEY HAD A VERY INTENSE FIRE AND RESOURCES GOT HERE. The children who died were riding in the van that was hit. A 14-year-old boy was ejected and killed. A seven-year-old girl and four-year-old boy who were in the van died later.Traffic in the area was shut down for more than nine hours as investigators tried to piece together just what happened. ___ ___, The Associated Press.
