From one of the kabalevsky's standard 20th-century teaching literature, 30 Children's Pieces, Op. 27. Beautiful, lyrical melody, which is set against a sustained double-note accompaniment in half-note note values. Appropriate for develping legato playing and finesse in tonal control at the early level.
