Here is a short video tutorial on how to pollinate flowers. It shows the pollination of phalaenopsis orchids.
The process and how to pollinate can vary depending on the type of flower. Phalaenopsis Orchids can be easily pollinated at home with the help of a tooth pick, a small straw or something similar: The orchid will start to grow a seed boll just a few days after pollination (noticeable on the stem of the pollinated flower).
Be aware though that growing Orchids from the seeds inside this seed boll is a complicated process and can take a very long time.
However, if you want to try to pollinate orchids yourself, just follow the instructions shown in the video. If you are a teacher, feel free to use this video in class to demonstrate how orchids (or flowers in general) are usually pollinated by insects.
There is going to be another video tutorial on what happens during the first days and months after the pollination of the orchid. It will also show you clips of the capsules and orchid seeds (stay tuned).
