Police have opened an inquiry into the attack on Kapenguria police station. 7 Police officers, among them a Recce Squad officer lost their lives when a rogue police officer grabbed a fireman from a fellow officer and shot dead six of his colleagues.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet confirmed that Abdihakim Maslah who was stationed there took the police station hostage for hours before a group of Recce officers stormed the building, killing him in the process.
