Jan. 6 panel has enough evidence to refer Trump for criminal charges, Cheney says.
Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said the House panel examining the attack on the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, has enough evidence to send President Donald Trump for criminal prosecution.
"It's crystal evident what President Trump was up to. What a handful of folks in his immediate vicinity were doing. They were aware that it was illegal. They went ahead and did it anyway "Cheney stated the following.
He said this when host Jake Tapper inquired if they had enough evidence to file a criminal referral for the former president.
Cheney also stated that the panel has yet to make a judgement on whether or not to proceed with the referral.'
