The D-Day Squadron. Made up of C-47s from around the United States, they would embark on a journey across the North Atlantic to Western Europe in May & June of 2024. Their mission was to drop paratroopers over Normandy, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion, and Operation Overlord.

Many of the participating aircraft were actual World War II veterans, with some even having flown during D-Day itself, making them an authentic symbol of history.

They would go on to do further drops over Europe, also commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, another historical event in which the C-47 was instrumental.
