The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "During the meeting, they discussed strengthening relations between Iraq and the countries of the European Union in various fields, in a way that enhances the goals of development and stability in Iraq and the region, and consolidates the democratic process which the Iraqi people have gone a long way towards building."
The two sides discussed the efforts of the Iraqi forces in combating terrorism and its remnants, and the international assisting efforts in this field, in a way that supports the consolidation of security and drying up the sources of terrorism and extremism, as well as discussing immigration, and facilitating the voluntary return of Iraqi immigrants.
The meeting also focused on discussing the importance of the reform programs adopted by the Iraqi government, openness to regional and international cooperation, efforts to attract investment, as well as the policy adopted by the Iraqi government in strengthening the principles of calm, dialogue and understanding between the various parties, in a way that consolidate peace in the Middle East.
