Cicero, born Marcus Tullius Cicero in 106 BC, was a Roman statesman, lawyer, orator, and philosopher. He is widely considered one of the greatest speakers in the history of the Roman Republic. Cicero played a major role in the politics of his time, serving as consul in 63 BC and later opposing Julius Caesar's rise to power. He was also a prolific writer and his works on philosophy, rhetoric, and politics were highly influential in both ancient and modern times. Some of his most famous works include "On the Republic," "On the Laws," and "On Moral Duties." Cicero was eventually exiled from Rome by Caesar's supporters and was later executed in 43 BC.
