Narendra Modi had strongly criticized the people running the Nirbhaya fund during the campaign, saying that though 1,000 Crs had been set aside for the sake of improving women's safety and security, the funds were sitting pretty with the UPA constituted committee from the Women and Child Development Ministry, in-charge of using the fund were twiddling their thumbs.
