Does anyone recognise this?
It is the clutch section from a David Brown Marine Division gearbox.
It is misbehaving (forward gone completely) and may just need to be adjusted, but nobody can work out how to adjust it.
We've been told that this same gearbox and clutch was used in Bonser All-Terrain Forklifts.
The age could be anything from the 1970s back to the 50s.
A previous owner told us that they fixed the same problem back in 1980 (40 years ago!) – an engineer took the gearbox off, made a new plate for it, and off they went! So, it may just be a case of doing the same and sure, we'd hopefully get another 40 years out of it...
But if anyone knows anything it would be wonderful to hear from you.
