Recently, Dodge sent me a 2025 Dodge Hornet R/T Plus Blacktop eAWD PHEV to review for the Thanksgiving weekend. While I didn’t have much time to shoot it during the holiday, I quickly understood why this vehicle has received criticism from some Dodge fans. The main points of contention seem to be: it's a rebadged Alfa Romeo, it's too European in design, and the price is higher than expected. Dodge has always been known for offering budget-friendly performance vehicles, and while the Hornet is important for the brand’s mainstream lineup, it could have been better suited to the North American market. That said, the Hornet isn’t all bad; its performance and driving dynamics are impressive for a C-segment crossover.
