For two years, a deer was seen with a tire on its neck in the US. Now, after several attempts, wildlife officials have released the animal from the obstacle. The Canadian deer was first sighted by a Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) official in 2019. He said that because the animal is in dense woods and is very wild, it was very difficult to find, and harder to get get close to the deer. Since then, the animal has been sighted several times by trail cameras. Officials monitored the animal over the years and saw that the tire was not affecting its ability to eat and drink. But authorities feared the animal would become trapped in tree branches, fences or even the horns of another moose. Police officers estimate that the tire was full of debris and that the animal lost about 16 kilos with the removal of the tire and horns. They were also surprised by the condition of the animal's neck. The mystery remains in how and when the moose got its tire stuck. But management says it may have happened when the deer was younger or during the winter when it changes antlers.
