On February 13, 2016 at about 1:00 pm police responded to an incident in the
800 block of 3 St SE involving an armed male located inside a residence. The
male was arrestable for outstanding warrants, but would not come out of the
residence and was known to be armed with at least one firearm.
After several hours of negotiation, the male eventually exited the residence
and was arrested by officers at the scene. In addition to the arrest
warrants, the male is being investigated for several other violence related
offences within Alberta, but outside of Medicine Hat. The 33 year old male
suspect is currently still in custody and the file is still under
investigation by
members of the Major Crime Section. Charges are pending.
